In fact, Pyrex is one of the vintage dishware brands you should always snag from thrift stores and estate sales, especially if the pattern or color works with your existing home decor. If you enjoy floral designs and mid-century hues, keep your eyes peeled for the brand's original Autumn Floral pattern — also called Square Flowers — when shopping secondhand wares.

The Autumn Floral pattern was available to consumers in 1964 and was in production in 1966. It features a row of square-shaped, pale yellow flowers on a mustard yellow-brown background. Autumn Floral was released a year before the similar but more common Verde pattern, which features green square flowers over a white background.

The Autumn Floral pattern was available in five dish sizes; the two smaller bowls have a single row of flowers, while the three larger dishes, including the Cinderella casserole dishes with spout-like handles — have two rows. Each dish was released with a transparent glass lid; if you're lucky, you may find this rare vintage Pyrex dish at a thrift store or an estate sale with the lid intact. Having it makes the piece more usable and boosts its value. In fact, on eBay a three-piece set of the larger Autumn Floral bowls with lids sold for $145, while a single large dish, since sold, was listed for $47.

Autumn Floral is a discontinued Pyrex pattern, so you can only buy it secondhand from thrift stores, estate sales, or online resale websites. Digital marketplaces like eBay, Poshmark, and Etsy are great places to find vintage Pyrex. However, searching for Autumn Floral dishes on these sites can be challenging because the patterns are often mislabeled.

When shopping in person, check the bottom of the dish for the Pyrex markings, which include the company's trademark with the brand name PYREX in capital letters. The dish will also be marked Made in U.S.A. and ovenware, along with the size and style number. The lids for Autumn Floral Pyrex casserole dishes include brand markings, too, which are found on each handle.

It's also important to pay attention to the condition of a piece when buying vintage Pyrex, whether you're perusing thrift store shelves or shopping online. Make sure that there are no cracks or chips in the glass, excessive scratching, or color fading. Such defects reduce the value and usability of the item. While there will likely be some scratches from utensils on the inside of an old dish, those marks typically do not impact durability.
