3 Home Goods That You Should Never Buy Used At A Garage Sale
By RYAN HAYWARD
Baby Cribs
It’s best to buy your crib brand new as they go through various safety testing to ensure they’re not dangerous, and if a piece is missing or cracked, it could pose a threat to your child. Also, there’s no way of telling whether or not your crib has been recalled in the previous years.
Mattresses
It’s recommended to change your mattress every six to eight years, and when buying from a garage sale, it’s hard to know if it’s at the end of its lifespan. Used mattresses are also not very sanitary, and they could be deeply soiled, have the previous owner’s skin flakes, or even bed bugs.
Non-Stick Pans
Non-stick pans are known for their slippery, Teflon surface, but if they are not properly taken care of, this coating can flake off into your food. At garage sales, you don’t know how the previous owner treated their pans, so they could already be worn down or full of deep scratches.
