3 Ways To Make A Kid-Friendly Kitchen That Still Looks Very Adult
By V BAWA
Children benefit from being involved in the kitchen by developing good habits and independence while having fun with their families. Messes, slips, and breakages are common in the kitchen, which is why it’s important to incorporate kid-friendly items while maintaining an adult-looking aesthetic.
Cleaning
Kids are constantly making messes, so having an easy-to-clean, organized kitchen will make your life much easier. Place parchment paper on the counter when preparing food so you can simply throw it out when done, and show your kids to clean as they go.
Open Floor Plan
An open concept kitchen seamlessly connects to other rooms, making the area feel more spacious and easier to navigate. It also allows you to multitask and keep an eye on what your kids are doing, but this layout can be a little noisy and make a messy kitchen more visible.
Décor
Instead of replacing your décor with kids' furniture, be intentional with what you have; for example, dedicate a lower cabinet for your child or turn a wall into a black or whiteboard. Also, use age-appropriate appliances like fun pancake molds and sturdy mixing bowls with your kids.
