4 Spaces In Your House That You Should Vacuum More
By DARBY STARK
The Mattress
You should vacuum the surface of your mattress every three to six months as it collects dust, allergens, skin cells, oil, sweat, and more. It can mainly be done with the upholstery function at the strongest setting, but crevices and seams may require a smaller attachment.
Upholstered Furniture
Your upholstered chairs and couches should be vacuumed weekly using a small attachment that can reach the crevices in your furniture. Leather cannot be cleaned with a vacuum, so be sure to check your couch’s label beforehand to ensure it is okay.
Drawers & Cabinets
Your drawers can collect dust, debris, mold, mildew, and hair, and you’ll want to use the smallest vacuum attachment possible or extension wands to reach the corners. To remove odors, sprinkle some baking soda on the surface before vacuuming.
Under Your Bed
The space under your bed should be vacuumed about twice a month with an extension wand or vacuum hose, or you can invest in a robot vacuum. Before vacuuming, remove any stored items and try sweeping or using a hair dryer to loosen any dust and debris.
