A Construction Expert On Which Powertool Brands To
Avoid Buying

House Digest spoke exclusively with Jason Pietruszka, founder of JJP Construction, to find out which power tool brands he recommends and which he avoids at all costs.
Pietruszka avoids Chicago Electric, Black+Decker, and Ryobi, saying, "Cheap power tools have their use [...] But most of the time, you are buying a cheap tool for the moment."
The expert said that Chicago Electric is inexpensive but not very good quality. Similarly, he claimed that Ryobi "make[s] quality tools, but they lack power and sustainability."
As for Black+Decker, Pietruszka acknowledges their longstanding reputation as a reliable brand, but said, "[T]oday, they definitely don't hold up."
