Aluminum Foil Is All You Need To Keep Pets Out Of Your Houseplants

Animals naturally like playing with or chewing on leaves, so surrounding your houseplants with something that feels unnatural to them, such as aluminum foil, is
a smart solution.
Since aluminum foil feels horrible underfoot, this will deter your pets (especially cats) from getting close enough to your plants
for a midday snack.
If your cat digs the soil inside your plant pot, loosely line the top layer of soil with tin foil. The unpleasant feeling and sound of the foil will discourage this behavior.
Placing foil around the plant in this way is best if you're trying to keep your cat away from jumping up in between branches of taller plants, resulting in them knocking them over.
