An Expert Weighs In On The Best Weed Killer To Use For Flower Beds
By ERICA CRAWFORD
Maintaining clean and organized flower beds often calls for killing pesky weeds. Fortunately, you can use a brand that landscape expert Roy Altaras considers the best weed killer.
Altaras tells House Digest, "The first one that comes to mind is the brand Roundup […]. This brand has been around for many years and is used excessively among gardeners."
The brand's main active ingredient is glyphosate, one of the most commonly used herbicides in the U.S., which prevents plants from making the necessary proteins to grow.
However, Altaras warns that glyphosate "has been speculated as a dangerous chemical to pets and humans when exposed largely and is of risk to give cancer."
When using Roundup, take safety measures like wearing gloves, eye protection, and a mask to minimize skin contact and inhalation, and always follow the label’s instructions.
