Are Wood Burning Stoves A Good Idea? HGTV's Dave Marrs Weighs In
By V BAWA
In the “Fixer To Fabulous” fifth season episode, “Horse Ranch Dream,” HGTV’s Dave Marrs recommended keeping the wood-fire stove because of its efficiency as a heater.
Wood-burning stoves are designed to use less energy, which leads to lower utility bills and a smaller environmental footprint.
Per Realtor, Marrs says a wood-burning stove disperses heat more efficiently than traditional fireplaces. It burns wood more completely and therefore extracts more heat.
The compact design better facilitates the heat it releases, but it’s important to note that wood stoves still produce air pollution.
You can lessen the effects by getting a modern model certified by the Environmental Protection Agency and installing it properly.
