Asian Lady Beetles Stand No Chance Against This All-Natural Oil
By CLAIRE DANGALAN
Asian lady beetles can bite and cause nuisance by releasing a yellowish fluid that stains surfaces and emits a distinct odor. To effectively deter them, consider using citrus oil.
Citrus oil is known for its insect-repelling properties. Several studies have shown that limonene, a chemical found in citrus peels, works as a natural repellent and insecticide.
Use citrus or citronella oil to mask the scent the beetles have left in your home, forcing them to leave. To prevent them from returning, apply the oil to all the entry points.
You can also grate peels of any citrus fruit and spread them in areas the Asian lady beetles use to enter your house such as windows, doors, and cracks in walls.
