Attract More Hummingbirds By Hanging Their Feeder At The Right Height
By Charlotte D. Miller
If you've tried putting up a hummingbird feeder but are not seeing much success, consider moving your feeder. Typically, the birds like them to hang around 6 feet in the air.
Feeders should not expose hummingbirds to predators, so they need to be at a height where predators living on the ground, such as a cat, cannot jump up and attack them.
With that said, hummingbirds are used to snacking on shrubs and flowers close to the ground, so don't hang it much higher than six feet to tap into their instincts.
Try to place your feeder not directly near any obstacles but somewhat near a tree. It's also best to keep the hummingbird feeder somewhere that's a bit shaded.
