Avoid This Mistake If You Want To Keep Your Lawn Mice-Free
By MARCO ROSSI
As the weather cools, mice seek warmth inside homes, making an invasion likely. The backyard becomes a crucial battleground to deter these pests from setting up shop indoors.
Heaps of organic matter, like piles of leaves, stacks of wood, or mounds of compost, sitting innocently in a corner are cozy homes and feasting spots for rodents.
To address the mouse dilemma humanely, remove potential yard waste. Store firewood away from structures, and regularly rake and dispose of leaves or mow them into a thin mulch.
Manage compost efficiently by using a solid bin with a secured lid, making it less accessible to mice. Placement in open areas also discourages these critters from sticking around.
