Can You Wash A Slow Cooker In The Dishwasher?
By RYAN HAYWARD
Slow cookers were invented in post-war times to easily cook dinner, and in the 1970s, the Crock-Pot we know and love was released. This allows you to prepare everything in the morning, leave it to cook at a low temperature throughout the day, and eliminate a mountain of dirty dishes after dinner.
Cleaning your slow cooker can seem like a challenge, and if you prefer hand washing, make sure you only clean it after the pot has completely cooled without steel wool or abrasive sponges that can scrape the surface. You can also let the pot clean itself by filling it with water, vinegar, and baking soda, covering it, and putting it on low heat for about an hour.
If you’re an avid dishwasher user, the inner components of slow cookers are most often safe to machine wash, but make sure that they are kept away from other items that could break or damage them. The outer components include many electrical features that should never be placed in the dishwasher, but instead use a moist cloth or paper towel to clean any splatters.
