Chewing Gum Won't Really Banish Moles From Your Garden
By KYLE SCHURMAN
You may have heard of a way to kill moles by placing Juicy Fruit gum into the animals’ holes. The idea is the moles will eat the gum, killing them because they cannot digest it.
In reality, because moles eat grubs, worms, and other underground insects, they simply aren't going to be curious enough about the fruity gum to eat it.
Rather than trying to remove moles with a weird home remedy, you could call a pest exterminator, purchase mole-repellant poisons, or use a spike trap.
More humane methods include installing an underground fence and making the property less desirable for moles by planting certain types of flowers that they dislike, like marigolds.
