Chip Gaines Swears By This Interior Paint Color Rule
By PAMELA SIEGEL
Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines suggests being reserved about your color choices if you're considering a move in the near future. Otherwise, choose a color that personifies you.
If you're living in a house for just a year or two, choose neutral hues like off-white, which may appeal to a broad range of potential buyers.
However, if you'll be in a property for three to five years, you should "personalize it and make
it your own" and forget about the reselling part, Gaines told Country Living.
If you're unsure about how long you'll stay, opt for accent walls so you can incorporate bold hues in your décor but only have to repaint one section if you plan to sell the house.
