Christina Hall Ditched These 5 Design Ideas When Flipping Houses
By ALEXANDRIA TAYLOR
Neutral Exteriors
On "Flip or Flop," designer Christina Hall always used neutral exteriors like black, white, and gray for the homes they flip in order to appeal to the most buyers.
Recently, she has embraced color, opting for bright front doors. New England Home Shows suggests introducing color via your front door, window shutters, trim, and landscaping.
Fireplace
Previously, Hall painted brick fireplaces white to keep the traditional texture while providing a clean and modern look that fits with a wider range of interior styles.
Now, Hall is opting for tile fireplaces, as they can transform the fireplace into a statement piece, especially when using patterns like herringbone, chevron, or stack bond.
Wood
Some feel dark wood is timeless and traditional, but others say it's outdated. In the early days of "Flip or Flop," Hall often opted for dark kitchen cabinets and wood floors.
In line with current design trends, Hall now utilizes lighter wood tones. They brighten a space, create an airy look, and work well with most interior styles, per Cass Design Co.
