An overloaded dryer can't dry your clothes as quickly as one with a bit more space. To avoid this problem, do not fill the drum more than three-fourths of the way.
If you choose a dryer setting that isn’t appropriate for your clothing, it can take longer to finish a load. Fix this by learning more about the settings on your machine.
A gentle cycle is for delicate items and uses little heat, while a standard load typically uses a permanent press setting. Towels or bulky items may need a timed dry.
When the lint screen is full of lint, it impedes circulation throughout the machine, and your items don’t get enough air. Emptying the screen can help items dry quicker.
In addition to removing the lint after each use, it is also a good idea to give it a deep cleaning once every few months with a soft brush dipped in hot water and dish soap.
Don't neglect the dryer vent, as when the hose becomes clogged with lint, the unit won’t function as efficiently. A clogged vent also poses a serious fire hazard.
A dryer vent should be cleaned at least once a year to remove lint build-up. You can do this using a vacuum cleaner and a long brush designed for the job.
