Companion Plants You Can Use To Grow Healthier Garden Cucumber
By Valerie Golik
Cucumbers are generally easy to grow and will reward you with some edibles, but there is a fast-growing veggie you should plant with cucumbers for a bountiful harvest: beets.
Beets and cucumbers can share gardening space quite easily, as most varieties of both like full sun and medium amounts of water, but their roots don't compete for space.
Sow the beets first, as soon as the ground is warm enough to work. For cucumbers, be sure to check your soil temperature first, as they don't like cold dirt.
Beets will also thrive next to your peppers in the garden, so consider planting all three veggies together. The subterranean-growing beets also aid in weed prevention.
