Control Drought Stress In Plants With A Household Staple
By LIBBY THOMPSON
Hydrogen peroxide has already proven its worth in the garden by combating sun damage, pests, and infections. However, it has another little-known benefit: reducing drought stress.
Drought stress occurs when a plant receives less water than it needs and can happen for a few reasons, including poor soil. Signs include slowed growth, wilting, and discoloration.
If your plants show any of these symptoms, try using a hydrogen peroxide and water solution the next time you water them. Simply mix 1 tablespoon peroxide with 1 gallon of water.
The hydrogen peroxide is drawn into the plant through its roots, where it sends signals that’ll trigger its defense mechanism. This makes the plant less likely to suffer damage.
