Create Stunning Centerpieces With Old Coffee Mugs
By LINDSAY DONALDSON
Rather than throwing away mugs that are sentimental or that you no longer use, give them new life by turning them into gorgeous centerpieces for any occasion.
To start, fill your mugs with AgraWool instead of the unsustainable floral foam. Pour in some water and use your creativity to arrange some fresh or faux florals in them.
You can also opt for a gridwork of transparent tape. Crisscross tape strips over the mug's mouth, creating smaller spaces to hold flowers and other decor together.
Beyond flowers, items such as lollipops, cinnamon sticks, colorful pencils, or candy canes all look amazing as part of a display or bunched together for uniform appeal.
Add functionality if you're entertaining — fill the mugs with pretzel rods or crudités among your floral displays, as well as cutlery and paper straws in other mugs.
Plan a fall table design with red, orange, and yellow flowers bunched into seasonal mugs. Tuck in some autumn leaves and brand-new number 2 pencils for back-to-school flair.
For Christmas on a budget, get out your many snowflake, pine tree, and Santa cups, and insert sprigs of evergreen from your yard along with a candy cane or two.
