Deal With Pesky Pests In Your Garden With This Spice Cabinet Staple
By HOPE NGO
When it comes to effective pest repellents, you might not think of reaching into your kitchen cabinets. However, cayenne pepper could be the solution to all your pest problems.
Cayenne contains capsaicin, which has been listed as a biochemical pesticide since 1962. Its strong scent and burning effect naturally deters most mammals without harming them.
It’s toxic to several insects, including spider mites and bees, as it disrupts their neurological functions. To use this hack, sprinkle a ¼ cup of cayenne around your garden.
You can also make a spray by combining 2 tablespoons of the spice with a few drops of dishwashing liquid and 1 gallon of water. Let it stand overnight before using it the next day.
