Ditch The Chemicals And Grab This Natural Oil
To Clean
Your Walls
By EZEKIEL MAINA
Stubborn smears and stains on your walls can be difficult to remove. Thankfully, pine essential oil is a safer, eco-friendly alternative to harsh commercial cleaning chemicals.
Pine essential oil is made from the needles, cones, and twigs of the Scots pine tree via steam distillation. It's great at combating grime while preserving your wall's integrity.
Additionally, it provides a protective layer against bacteria and contains natural anti-viral properties that eliminate unwanted fungal growth, creating a healthier environment.
Begin by grabbing pine essential oil, white vinegar, warm water, a spray bottle, and a sponge or cloth. For every cup of warm water, add 10 to 15 drops of pine essential oil.
To amplify the effects, add ¾ cups of white vinegar — its acidic nature can cut through grease and stubborn stains. Then, gently shake the bottle to blend the elements.
Before spraying your walls, test it on a small, hidden patch. If the test is successful, sparingly spray the mixture onto the rest of your wall and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
Lastly, do a victory sweep with a rag or sponge. Just remember to always wear gloves when using homemade cleaners, and tread cautiously with pine essential oil around your pets.
