DIY A Stylish Planter With This Unexpected Thrift Store Item
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
TikTok user @mylynnandridge shared an upcycling project that shows how you can thrift a vintage suitcase from a local store and turn it into a stylish and unique DIY planter.
Purchase an old suitcase from a thrift store or online from Etsy or eBay. You’ll also need some potting soil, a shovel, an electric screwdriver, a clear plastic sheet, and plants.
Cut a layer of clear plastic sheet to line the inside of the suitcase, then drill some drainage holes with your electric screwdriver, and put your planter where you want it to be.
Fill the suitcase with potting soil and add your plants. Customize your planter by re-covering it or adding small solar lights — just ensure the materials used are weather-proof.
