Blanket
To turn your favorite throw blanket into a thick, light-blocking curtain, clip hook rings onto it, hem the top to fit a curtain rod, or add grommets along the top.
Plants
Line up a wall of hanging pots or attach a window box above the window with plant tendrils draping down to create a natural privacy screen that allows a lot of light in.
Napkins
Create cute cafe-style curtains for a kitchen or bathroom window from pretty dinner napkins. Use napkins with coordinated designs on different kitchen windows for cohesion.
Ribbons
Tie varying lengths, varieties, and colors of ribbon onto a rod or cord to create a whimsical window treatment, especially as a valance for a kids’ playroom or nursery.
Beads
Use crystal beads, faux pearls, wooden beads, or beads from old costume jewelry strung onto bead wire or fishing line to create a pretty boho chic curtain or room divider.
