Does A TV Screen Belong In Your Backyard? HGTV's Dave Marrs Weighs In
By V BAWA
Dave Marrs is torn between having an outdoor TV to catch a football game and giving his children the chance to take full advantage of being outside without the distraction of a TV.
Televisions give you something to do while you relax or socialize with family and friends outside. They can also enhance the visual appeal of your patio, adding a modern touch.
However, it can be expensive to install a very good TV setup outdoors. Consider the cost of buying and installing an outdoor TV and any additional accessories that come separately.
Outdoor TVs also need to be protected against the elements of rain, snow, wind, and heat, which means investing in a weatherproof and durable system.
While having a TV screen outdoors can be a nice way to unwind, it may not be a good way to foster connections or entertain outside, so it might be better to leave the TVs indoors.
Outdoor electronics are also more susceptible to theft or vandalism, which might require you to include the area in your home security system coverage.
