Does Cleaning Vinegar Ever Expire?
By DANIELLE RAMOS-SULLIVAN
Cleaning vinegar like the distilled white variety boasts an impressively long shelf life and doesn't technically expire, thanks to its acidic nature that makes it self-preserving.
This characteristic means you can safely store cleaning vinegar indefinitely, even outside the refrigerator, without worrying about it spoiling or becoming harmful.
Although vinegar bottles come with a "best by" date, this is merely an indication of peak freshness and not a measure of safety. You can use it past this date without any worries.
Over time, while the physical appearance of cleaning vinegar remains largely unchanged, its efficacy as a cleaning agent might wane due to the gradual evaporation of acetic acid.
