Give Your Hallway Some Winter Cheer With This Easy Lighting Hack
By KRISTY BOWEN
Icicle lights hanging from the roof are a great way to decorate your home during the holidays — but some inventive DIYers repurpose these string lights for even more creative uses.
TikTok user @craftylumberjacks showed off how they turn their hallway into a magical winter wonderland using a grid of icicle lights that they leave up all year long.
If you want to recreate this look, you will need several sets of icicle lights, a two-socket adaptor, plug-in adaptors, command hooks, and zip ties the same color as your cords.
Screw the two-socket adaptor with the plug-ins into the central light fixture for the icicle lights. Then, use the command hooks to create a grid on the ceiling with the lights.
Fasten the hanging parts crisscrossed with zip ties to join the strands together, creating a web of lights that hangs and glistens overhead.
If you don’t have a ceiling socket in the area where you wish to hang lights, battery-operated lights will also work and get you through the holiday season without dangling cords.
