Good Bones' Pantry Solution Keeps Kitchen Clutter Hidden
By MARCO ROSSI
In Season 8, Episode 2 of HGTV’s hit show "Good Bones," mother-daughter duo Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E. Laine tackled kitchen clutter by creating a hidden walk-in pantry.
While the hidden pantry trend isn’t a new concept, the lovable duo elevated the idea with a clever twist: They transformed the pantry door itself into extra storage space.
They disguised the door with a shallow cabinet that mimicked the shaker-style of the rest of the kitchen cabinetry, and when opened, the owners were greeted with shallow shelves.
When the cabinet is pushed inward, a door is revealed to access the walk-in pantry. Thanks to its four rows of open shelving, the owners can now store everything out of sight.
