Grab These Two Household Staples To Clean Yellow Pillow Stains
By CLAIRE DANGALAN
Over time, pillowcases can accumulate yellow stains that make bedding look unkempt. Luckily, you can get rid of these stains with two common items: hydrogen peroxide and dish soap.
Yellow stains on pillows are a collection of sweat, bodily oils, saliva, or other fluids that can harbor bacteria, mold, and dust mites. Therefore, they pose a health hazard.
To make your stain-removal solution, start by adding two parts hydrogen peroxide and one part dish soap to a plastic container. Mix them together, ensuring they're well blended.
Next, with a clean cloth, soft brush, or sponge, dab some of the mixture onto the stained areas of the pillow and rub gently in a circular motion. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
Lastly, rinse the pillow thoroughly with clean water, and air dry or toss it in the dryer on a low cycle. Repeat the process for stubborn stains or consider a pre-treatment method.
