Grab This Bargain Block Marble Look-Alike For A Unique Backsplash
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
In an episode of HGTV’s “Bargain Block,” hosts Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas upgraded an outdated kitchen backsplash by replacing it with recycled glass tiles that mimicked marble.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, recycled glass tiles are highly durable, stain-resistant, non-absorbent, and eco-friendly, making them a great choice for the kitchen.
These tiles are also a budget-friendly alternative to marble backsplash, which can cost up to $3,500 for materials and installation. Recycled glass will only set you back $1,800.
Since they require professional installation, you should lay out your preferred pattern ahead of time to make it easier to communicate what you want the final product to look like.
Although very durable, the glass tiles can scratch easily. Avoid any harsh materials when cleaning — soft brushes paired with regular soap and water are enough to do the trick.
