Helpful Tips To Keep Wild Onion Weeds Out Of Your Yard
By EZEKIEL MAINA
Wild onion weeds are the result of resilient, subterranean bulbs. Only a combination of physical intervention, chemical herbicides, and perfect timing will get rid of them forever.
Start by softening your soil with water before grasping the bulbs by their bases to pull them out. Then, consistently mow your grass to create an unfavorable environment for them.
Fertilizing, reseeding, and overseeding will also discourage wild onions from taking root. To kill any remaining weeds, purchase a post-emergent, selective herbicide like dicamba.
Since its weeds are excellent at repelling chemicals, add some dish soap to your herbicide for extra penetration power before applying it in the late fall and again in the spring.
