Here's How To Clean Your Sliding Door Tracks
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
Regular cleaning of sliding glass door tracks is sometimes forgotten until the door stops sliding correctly or becomes damaged, but even filthy tracks can be renewed.
To deep clean your sliding door, start by sweeping or vacuuming with a hose attachment any debris from the tracks, ensuring you get both sides of the door.
Once most of the loose dirt is removed, wipe the tracks with a damp cloth, add a few drops of dish soap if needed, then wipe again to rinse any soap residue and let air dry.
To help remove extreme grime, lightly sprinkle baking soda over the tracks, spray the area with vinegar, let the solution bubble, then scrub with a toothbrush.
Hydrogen peroxide can be used in place of vinegar. After sprinkling baking soda and spraying with peroxide, wait up to 10 minutes before wiping with a damp cloth.
