Here's When You Should Plant Grass Seed If You Live In The Midwest
By BROOKE YOUNGER
For those living in the Midwest, choosing the best time to sow grass seeds can be a challenge due to the region's varying climate, marked by brutal winters and warm, rainy summers.
Despite the common misconception that spring is the ideal season for seeding, early fall — specifically from late August to mid-September — is actually more suitable for this task.
This period capitalizes on the tail end of summer when the harsh heat has subsided, but soil temperatures are still sufficiently warm to encourage the germination of grass seeds.
Weed growth is also less intense at this time, enabling the newly planted grass to develop a strong root system before the first frost of winter and come back strong in
the spring.
