HGTV star Mina Starsiak Hawk, known for transforming homes on the show "Good Bones," is ready to put to bed a specific home design trend: tile accent stripes in bathrooms.
Over the years, she has designed many bathrooms and observed that these accent stripes, which were once popular for adding a splash of color or texture, are no longer in vogue.
Starsiak Hawk and other designers are moving away from this overused and dated look in favor of fresh tile trends that bring more excitement and modernity to bathrooms.
These new trends include using rich, bold colors throughout the room; incorporating tiles with texture or interesting shapes; and laying tiles vertically rather than horizontally.
