HGTV's Fixer To Fabulous Shows Us A Stunning Wine Rack Wall Idea
By KRISTY BOWEN
In an episode of HGTV's "Fixer to Fabulous," host Dave Marrs created the perfect wine storage solution for a pair of homeowners who happened to be his in-laws.
By building a stylish diamond-arranged wall of wine shelves, Marrs gave the parents of wife and cohost Jenny Marrs ample space for their collection of bottles to grow and expand.
In the dining room, Marrs framed out the diamond shelves with a natural wood frame, including molding at the top, wood planks along the sides, and a kickplate at the bottom.
This entire unit has a custom built-in look that seems as if it were always part of the home, and the storage capacity for the wall is large and deep, at around 600 bottles.
Diamond-shaped wine racks provide an incredible amount of storage for wine lovers, and can be scaled accordingly in the space you have for smaller collections, too.
You’ll want to consider weight loads, though. While small racks can be attached to studs or freestanding, Marrs' mammoth wall of 600 bottles may need some additional support.
