HGTV's Jasmine Roth Adores This Unique Countertop Material
By ALEXANDRIA TAYLOR
On HGTV’s "Help! I Wrecked My House," Jasmine Roth’s clients wanted a unique kitchen, so Roth chose Taj Mahal quartzite for the island and countertops, creating a bright detail.
Taj Mahal quartzite features mostly shades of cream, tan, and beige in swirling vein patterns. It fits well with home trends moving toward warm neutrals, yet it’s timeless, too.
This quartzite is formed with immense pressure and heat, which makes it a dense stone ideal for kitchen or bathroom countertops, as it’s resistant to chips, scratches, and heat.
Though porous, it should be resistant to stains if sealed once per year; however, you should always clean up any spills with mild soap and water to avoid erosion or discoloration.
Roth’s mid-century boho design broke the internet with its subtle brown and reddish-brown veining, which complemented the warm tones around the kitchen and dining room.
Homeowners are starting to prefer soft, warm, neutral kitchens. Earthy shades of green, red, orange, and yellow, with gold fixtures could pair well with Taj Mahal quartzite.
