Tile backsplashes remain as popular as ever and add a decorative touch to the kitchen. For a unique take on the trend, consider this imperfect tile beloved by HGTV’s Jen Todryk.
In Season 2, Episode 3 of HGTV’s “No Demo Reno,” Todryk went with an overlooked choice for a client remodel and used imperfect zellige tiles on the backsplash.
These tiles have a disheveled appearance — the feature Todryk loves — and add a rugged texture to the room since the uneven grout lines cause the tiles to have a pop-out effect.
Todryk paired the soft gray imperfect zellige tiles with black and marble countertops, green cabinets, and gold hardware for an earthy yet modern atmosphere.
