HGTV's Jenn Todryk Loves This Paint Trick For A Bigger-Looking Space
By KRISTY BOWEN
In an episode of HGTV’s "No Demo Reno," Jenn Todryk chose a serene and soft shade of light blue-gray to cover the walls and the ceiling of a home office.
"Since this is a smaller room, by painting it all one color, you kind of don't notice where the ceiling starts," Todryk explained. "So it just makes it look a lot bigger."
By carrying the shade to the ceiling, the continuous effect made the room seem as if it were floating in an endless field of sky, giving the small room a more expansive appearance.
Todryk also painted the trim around the base of the room and window the same shade to create a continuous, unbroken swathe of color.
To break up the room, Todryk instead used patterns, like the windowpane rug, artwork, and rich wood tones, which took the emphasis off the enclosing walls.
