HGTV's Jenn Todryk Says To Leave This Lighting Trend In The Past
By KRISTY BOWEN
In an episode of “No Demo Reno,” HGTV’s Jenn Todryk transformed a dated home into a modern space by first removing the rail of 1970s-style track lighting that had flanked one wall.
For an updated look, Todryk replaced the metal rail with recessed canister lights, which offered the same all-over lighting without the unsightly track running along the ceiling.
If recessed lighting is not an option in your home, consider sconces or picture rail lights to highlight artwork or fireplaces and brighten areas where larger lights may not fit.
Try using LED battery-operated fixtures that don’t need to attach to your house’s electrical system for overhead lighting, or under-the-sink puck lights to brighten the kitchen.
