HGTV's Nate Berkus Avoids This Type Of Grout At
All Costs
By CYNTHIA ANAYA
While HGTV host Nate Berkus thinks grout should match the tile color as closely as possible, he draws the line at white. "I think it always looks terrible," he said
on Instagram.
Although Berkus didn't provide specific reasons for his disdain, the maintenance challenges associated with white grout could be a significant factor behind
his statement.
Over time, white grout loses its pristine appeal, showing dirt more prominently than darker grouts. This discoloration likely echoes Berkus' assertion of it looking "terrible."
To combat these issues, homeowners need to clean white grout regularly or apply a sealant, both of which require additional effort and expense compared with darker grout options.
