Hilary Farr Thinks One Stunning Home Feature Is Well Worth The Money
By MELISSA MAYNARD
In an interview with the Indianapolis Home Show, Hilary Farr was asked, “What's one thing you think people should splurge on for their home?” Farr answered, “Beautiful floors.”
Farr wasn't specific about which flooring one should go with, but it’s likely wood because she tends to use it for home renovations on HGTV’s “Love It or List It.”
She has noted “green design” as crucial in the past and said, “Reclaimed woods that look beautiful with any design choice from sleek modern to traditional to hardcore country!”
The interior designer continued, “The designs are available in a variety of old-world layouts such as herringbone: Notice the scale has been notched up. Not your granny's parquet!”
For an apartment or an open floor plan, Farr says to “play with this in small spaces or use it for drama in large open spaces. LEED approved is as important as how they look.”
