How Coconut Oil Can Make Your Leather Furniture Look New Again
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
Leather furniture can lose moisture and become dull over time. If you want to make it look supple and new again, consider using fractionated coconut oil as a conditioning agent.
Unlike regular coconut oil, which solidifies at lower temperatures due to its lauric acid content, fractionated coconut oil remains liquid as the acid is removed
during processing.
To apply it, use a soft, lint-free cloth, ideally a clean microfiber one. Put a few drops of the oil on the cloth, not directly on the furniture, and gently rub in
large circles.
Ensure you don't redo any section. Also, use the bare minimum of oil and do not oversaturate the cloth, as over-conditioning leather can reduce its breathability
and durability.
Since coconut oil has the potential to darken leather, conduct a patch test in a hidden corner of your sofa to ensure it doesn't damage or discolor the furniture.
