How HGTV's Erin Napier Creates A New Purpose For An Old Window Valance

Old houses are almost guaranteed to have some outdated features. Luckily, HGTV’s Erin Napier has the perfect solution for turning an old valance box into a unique storage space.
First, Napier removed the valance box from the window before wrapping it in fabric. When choosing your material, keep in mind what colors or patterns will complement the room.
After securing the fabric with a nail gun, Napier mounted the box on the wall with shelf brackets for a stylish cubby hole that can be used for storing blankets, pillows, and more.
Other easy DIYs include staining old window frames or transforming the panes into painted chalkboards. Sometimes a small change in decor is all it takes to transform your home.
