How Hydrogen Peroxide Can Remove Marker Stains From Plastic
By RACHEL ANN MELEGRITO
Hydrogen peroxide can effectively remove permanent marker stains from plastic surfaces. To use, dampen a cotton ball or cloth with this household staple and gently blot the stains.
Next, wash the plastic in soapy water, or wipe it off with a damp cloth. If hydrogen peroxide isn't sufficient, you may find success by adding a bit of baking soda to the area.
While generally safe for white and transparent plastics, hydrogen peroxide can bleach colored plastics. Also, it can damage the surface if scrubbed too hard or left for too long.
Therefore, it's recommended to conduct a spot test on an inconspicuous part of the plastic item to ensure it doesn't cause any discoloration or damage.
