How Often Do I Really Need To Clean My Birdbath?
By RYAN HAYWARD
It's recommended to clean your birdbath at least twice a week to prevent the buildup of algae, bacteria, mold, and other contaminants and keep it safe for your
feathered friends.
However, if your birdbath is frequently visited by birds, you may need to clean it every other day due to the accumulation of discarded seeds and bird droppings.
Moreover, if your birdbath is situated near many trees, it's advisable to remove debris like leaves and sticks daily to keep the water clean.
Proper upkeep not only ensures the health of the visiting birds but also prevents the birdbath from becoming a breeding ground for unwanted pests
like mosquitoes.
