How Salt Can Help Clean Your Burnt Pans
By MEREDITH EASTWOOD
Salt is a kitchen staple that serves a dual purpose beyond seasoning your dishes, as it can also be your ally in rescuing burnt pans from the brink of destruction.
For this cleaning hack, begin by clearing any remaining food debris from the burnt pan. Then, apply a generous layer of table salt onto the burnt sections.
Moisten the salt layer with a small amount of water, forming a paste that adheres to the burnt areas. Allow this mixture to sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
With a soft sponge or cloth, gently scrub the pan's surface using circular motions — the salt’s abrasive quality will help dislodge burnt residue without harming the pan.
Rinse the pan thoroughly with warm water to eliminate any lingering salt or debris, repeating the process if necessary until the burnt areas are fully removed.
