How To Destroy Confidential Documents While Helping Your Lawn
By RIA BHAGWAT
Mulching documents is an eco-friendly alternative to shredding old papers. After several weeks, the paper will naturally break down, getting rid of the confidential information.
To start, cut or tear your documents into pieces small enough not to reveal identifying information. You can also soak these in water to ensure all writing is removed.
Then, mix the pieces into your regular mulch or compost. Make sure not to include any artificial materials, such as glossy or laminated paper.
Besides mulching, there are other options for getting rid of private documents. For example, depending on the season, you could burn them in a fire pit and dispose of the ashes.
