How To Remove Command Strips So You Don't Damage Your Walls
BY SAKSHI KHAITAN
Perhaps the most common mistake made when removing Command strips is pulling the tab at the bottom away from the wall. Doing so will remove a chunk of paint along with the strip.
To avoid this happening, all you need to do is pull the tab the right way. Hold the Command strip's tab and gently pull it down until it completely detaches from the wall.
If necessary, support your hands on the wall to get a good hold. Note the exposed strip can stretch up to 15 inches, so don't worry if it doesn't come off your wall right away.
If the strip snaps midway through, focus a hair dryer on medium setting onto the leftover adhesive, glide a small piece of floss beneath it, then move it up and down to detach it.
