How To Steal The Look Of HGTV Star Hilary Farr's Actual Kitchen
By JULIANA LUMAJ
A little inspiration can go a long way when it comes to remodeling, and interior designer and co-host of "Love It or List It," Hilary Farr is happy to share her own kitchen design.
The designer uses Statuario quartz by Silestone for her countertop and backsplash. The veining of this material is thick and sparse, so the overall design feels bright and open.
Farr likes Statuario quartz due to its eco-friendly nature. As she states, "It's manufactured using a sustainable manufacturing process that uses [...] 100% renewable electric energy."
Since the quartz is very bright, Farr creates contrast by painting the bottom cabinets and kitchen island black to give the kitchen a minimalistic and clean appearance.
A harmonious home should have a common theme, and in Farr's case, she enjoys promoting wooden décor and sustainable materials throughout her luxurious Toronto residence.
Wood finishes are also abundant in Farr's kitchen, which nicely warms up the neutral-toned space. Farr also opts for wooden chairs that are darker than the floor to create contrast.
