How To Store Coffee Grounds So They’re Ready To Use Around The House
By CLAIRE DANGALAN
Used coffee grounds are useful for fertilizing your garden and cleaning your house, but they need to be properly prepared and stored so they’re ready for when you need them.
To prepare your used coffee grounds for storage, spread them out thinly on a tray and let them dry in the sun for a few days, or dry them in your oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Thoroughly drying the coffee grounds stops them clumping, molding, and decomposing. Next, transfer them to a clean, dry, airtight glass mason jar or food-grade plastic container.
For extra moisture-prevention, put a silica gel packet, some newspaper, or parchment paper on top of the coffee grounds, then seal the container and store it in a cool, dry place.
