How To Turn A Cutting Board Into A Mini Couch Tray
By ALEXANDRA RODRIGUEZ
If you want to place your snacks and drinks while resting on the couch without having to worry about them falling over and making a mess, consider making a DIY couch tray.
For this hack, TikTok user @hometalk recommends using two Dollar Tree cutting boards where one will serve as the tray, while the other is cut in half to serve as legs.
On the full-length cutting board, glue a few Jenga pieces along the width of the board on each side, using clamps and extra small pieces of wood to let the glue set.
If you don’t have Jenga pieces, cut wood scraps into tiny rectangular pieces and use them instead. Next, allow the glue to dry before cutting another board in half with a saw.
Then, glue the cutting board halves to the inner parts of the Jenga pieces and clamp them down until fully dry. Remove the clamps, and your mini tray is ready for the couch arm.
Alternatively, attach door hinges instead of gluing wood together so the legs are bendable and the tray is easy to store. You can also personalize it with paint or wood stain.
